THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OFTHE RED CROSS (ICRC)

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is looking to recruit a Senior Administrator for its Regional Delegation in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting directly to management of the Delegation, the successful candidate will contribute to the ICRC’s work on behalf of persons in need of protection and assistance.

Job Description

BASED IN KUALA LUMPUR

Main duties and responsibilities

– As member of the management team, is responsible for all administrative and finance matters.
– Manages and supervises the Administration in term of Human Resources, Finance, Welcome, Logistics and Premises.
– Manages and develops a team of 12.
– Ensures the administrative management of the 33 national staff in the delegation
– Supervises the Finance department, being responsible for preparing and presenting the budget, controlling the cash-flow and administering the Delegation’s funds. Observe and review internal control procedures in compliance with Finance and Administration manual.
– Supervises the Welcome department in charge of the travel arrangements for the Delegations’ staff and the organization of seminars and events.
– Supervises the Logistics department responsible for the purchasing, stock management and maintenance of premises.
– Negotiates and maintains regular contacts with senior interlocutors.

Qualifications and Experience:

– University degree, preferably in business administration.
– Eight-year work experience in a similar function, with strong background in finance, human resources management and development.
– With initiative and good leadership qualities, ability to lead and motivate staff, proactive and constructive.
– Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, adaptable.
– Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
– High level of analytical skills.
– Excellent computer skills.
– Fluent in both written and spoken English.
– Ability to travel occasionally to other destinations in the region.
– Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deliver within deadlines.
– Capable of multi-tasking across a variety of activities.
