Director Of Language Division, Grade 54
Job Description:
Minimum qualification:
• Masters Degree in TESL/TESOL/TEFL/English Language. A PhD degree will be an advantage
• Five (5) to (7) years of working experience in leading a language department
• Excellent command of spoken and written English. Mastering an additional language (French / Spanish / Arabic / Mandarin) would be an advantage
• A team player, self-motivated and achievement oriented
• Has a passion for teaching and sharing of knowledge
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Exposure to international teaching & learning setting will be an added advantage
Main duties will include:
Preparing and delivering language training modules:
• Responsible for syllabus design, development of teaching and learning materials for language training programmes based on standard English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu language curriculum
• Design courses to help learners gain mastery of basic, intermediate and advanced language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu) skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing
• Design courses pertaining to language, culture, and cross – cultural awareness
• Design and organise workshops on intercultural and multicultural communications
• Design and develop a pool of internal qualified professional translators
• Responsible for the teaching, learning and management of language courses
• Responsible for preparing reports of courses delivered
Additional duties will include:
• Initiate research projects on the field of language and cultural diplomacy
• Produce publications related to the division
• Undertaking administrative duties including maintaining participants’ records, correspondence and reports, writing references and liaising with the relevant bodies within the Institute.
• Assisting in the running of the Institute’s and Division’s programmes and events
• Attending management and technical meetings
• Assisting with social events
